Flowco Lanka has already committed USD 1 million to its Sri Lankan operations, establishing a base in Colombo and a field hub in Matara. The company is introducing international standards of fuel system maintenance and automation, with an emphasis on measurable improvements in operational efficiency, safety and environmental performance.
“Our experience in mature markets has shown that real transformation doesn’t necessarily require large capital outlays,” said Omar Mohamed Said, Managing Director of Flowco Group. “It starts with helping dealers cut waste, reduce maintenance issues and take control of their operations through better data and automation.”
A key part of Flowco’s strategy is its recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with local operator RM Park, giving Flowco access to approximately 150 retail sites over a three-year period. The partnership focuses on enhancing fuel quality, automating tank monitoring and improving site-level safety and compliance.
Flowco’s model—already proven in Australia and Malaysia—includes:
- Automated tank gauging and diagnostics to reduce product loss and contamination
- Predictive maintenance systems that limit breakdowns and extend asset life
- Remote monitoring tools to support real-time visibility over fuel inventory
- Structured maintenance programs to minimise downtime and service disruptions
Instead of relying on costly upgrades, Flowco enables station operators to start with foundational improvements, such as tank cleaning, fuel system hygiene and digital inventory tracking. This phased approach is designed to demonstrate clear cost savings early on, making it easier for dealers to reinvest in further upgrades.
Equally important is Flowco’s commitment to local workforce development. The company has already hired more than 40 Sri Lankan staff and plans to upskill local technicians through overseas training in Malaysia and Australia, aiming to build long-term technical capability within the country.
